I won their 3/8 cordless last year and it's been great. I keep it in my truck for changing tires and random take that pop up around the ranch.
The 3/8 does everything I need it to do so I don't really need the new 1/2 but it's nice to see that they built it as a larger version of the W5132.

I think it’s so awesome. Probably not worth it for me since I have Milwaukee, and their new 3/8 mid torque will compete with ir 3/8

Looks like a nice tool. Industry leader again in power. An upgrade for those with the original version, which was the industry leader for a while and is still pretty capable even by today's standards.

I have all Milwaukee, including the 1400lb impact that cost about $225 for the bare tool and comes with a 5 year warranty. It is sufficient for me.

Having seen a split hammer case on the last Ingersol cordless impact I personally would shy away from their cordless impacts. Milwaukee is my favorite for performance, quality, and support. Frankly I'm still using a brushed m18 impact. It has done most of what i need. Highly anticipating the new fuel impacts. 600 foot-pounds in a 3/8 gun looks awesome.

Nice impact, but $830 for a 2 battery kit plus for for me, exchange, border fees, shipping that's over a $1000 for one cordless 1/2 impact. Yikes

Yes it’s crazy expensive, it’s snap on prices

I got to try the predecessor, and it was the strongest one on the market at the time (real world use, not based on bench numbers). Wish I could try this one out, but still have air everywhere I need.

And I've seen Milwaukee's fail too. Rubber falls off easy on them.

For a home user, I don't see any reason to buy Ingersoll-Rand (or Snap-on for that matter) cordless tools when you get get a dozen other brands for a lot cheaper, with more tool and battery options.

Milwaukee has 90% of the performance at 50% of the cost.

I have the 7150 at work and it's a monster. I haven't found anything yet that it won't break free. I'd love to have the new version with the light, but since this one was free I won't *****. I'd have to say for home use it's way, way too much, but for industrial maintenance work it's almost a must-have. The 5132 for home, yup, but not this big beast.

IR is known for their air tools. I'll take Milwaukee's cordless tools any day over IR. Milwaukee simply has a far bigger lineup of 18V tools you can use with the same batteries.

Fair enough. I’ve just had a good amount of issues with my gen 1 1/2. After the third fix it’s been pretty good, feels like it’s losing power again tho.

I have their newest W5132 3/8" 20v with the ring light on it, I love that impact. I also have the first W7150 1/2" 20v that came out and have used it since I bought it. I would definitely buy this impact but at the price maybe I'll just let the W7150 die first... I haven't gone up against anything it hasn't handled yet.
