Costco Has a New Item:

I bought one of these today at Costco. I have a place where it fits perfectly and I'll use the work surface for a computer and a mini desk / office area in the garage. It has bearing drawer slides and looks pretty nice for the money. It's not a heavy duty unit but will serve a good purpose for my needs. It's 18" deep / made in Tiawan
I can post better photos if anyone is considering one

man that's a hot deal for that size. Am I missing something here? That's cheap!

Did they have any other colors?

damn, nice deal. only thing I don't like is the amount of deep drawers. do they have a top for it?
It has a nice wood top on it, so no top box, it's considered a workstation. I'll post photos tomorrow. The black things are locks for the drawers, you must slide to left to open drawers. Only red color

I saw the same version a couple of days ago when I was at Costco... The bling factor made me walk over, but it was such a narrow box. The wood top did look nice.

They open quite well, the metal of the drawers is straight edge on top (no bent over edge that gives more rigidity) so they're light duty in that respect. both locks are keyed the same. That display model had some paint defects on it, but the one I bought looks good..I was worried for awhile.

i got another $30 off and a power cord for my air compressor when they dropped it in my dads truck. it tipped over and cracked the cab light on the back of the cab

mrshaun,

The black things on the side of the drawer is the lock, so the drawer won't come open by it's self. They had gray one's in the costco here, then they got the red one. couldn't talk the wife into letting me get one.:lol_hitti go figure.

Wadda think? Do you have it home yet? Inquiring minds want to know...

I don't see anything on the tag about ball bearings. How is the drawer action? Also, is 56" the only size? I'm not complaining for only $459, but that might be tough to squeeze into the spot I've got.

New Guy here,

Been eyballing that tool box at Costco, it is $429 at my Costco, Seattle area. Will get it but dont have room at the moment. Removed everything from my garage, it is all in the house, wife is real happy about that! Electrical rough in done, insulation done, the dry wall done (they will shoot the PVA today and light texture). Will get the Costco box next week, they are getting more in. Its only 18" deep, forgot to measure the drawer depth, it seems pretty light weight, not as heavy as the HF box. It should do for my needs. I wil post a thread on my garage redo when it's about done. Hopefully my antiquated Snap On box wont mind a Taiwan box.

I'm happy with it. It's a light duty unit, but for the money a good value.
drawer metal is .035. Real nice top. Drawers are 15 " deep It has ball bearing slides. The bottom drawers do have the top edge bent over for more rigidity, all the others are straight edge on top, you can see it in the photo with open drawers

what are the black things right under the drawer. looks like the snap on lock and roll.

No, it's a completely different and an original idea thought up independently by a person that has never even seen a Snap-On box.
