New Kid from Upstate NY

My name is Tom, and I'm from Waterford, NY - eastern terminus of the Erie Canal, which runs behind my property.

I don't have a tool-related pedigree like some of you. My career was in state government until I retired eight years ago. At that point I and my father began working in earnest on restoring my 1948 Chevy pickup. I learned a lot about elbow grease and hand tools during that project. I've always been handy around the house with fixing things, too.

Anyway, I've been lurking in the shadows for about a year, fascinated with some of the projects and talented people here. I hope at some point I can add something useful to the knowledge base.

Hi there, APEowner! I take the truck up through Schuylerville on my way over to the fairgrounds for the truck show. I may be going over the Hudson and up the other side from now on, though, because Rt. 32 is really rough up your way!

Tom-cool truck. I forget when we get started but the Adirondack Car Enthusiast (ACE) club (which I'm a member of) does a cruise in every Wednesday night in the summer at Mr Bill's drive in off exit 17n. We get quite an eclectic group of vehicles. Come on up some time and check it out.
