New Kobalt Everything Wrench

A newish mechanics tool set at Lowes came out before Father's day and comes with what I like to call an Everything Wrench.

The EW wrench has an adjustable wrench, bit socket, and square drive, all in one.

Looks gimmicky, but could be useful on-the-go.

I would carry that tool in my truck wear I have limited space and need an all in one tool. But wouldn't use it on a regular basis.
Are Kobalt tools any good? I just spent $25 on there 24" pipe wrench. I also saw they had a wrench set with the half moon and short combo wrenches in a set for $75.

Other then the gearwrench and plier wrench, when it comes to hand tools, if it wasn't invented 60 years ago and has proven itself, i don't need it.

This actually doesn't seem that bad. Only down side is I'd probably want to use the adjustable to hold the other end of whatever I am using the ratchet on... but they are connected! I could see it being used where space is limited to hold tools (cars, motorcylces, boats maybe) and for small quick repairs.

I'd pay like $10 bucks for it- but I've already got nice tool kits in all my cars!

Lets see you need a ratchet, and a "one size fits all" to hold the other side while your ratcheting... I Know! lets put them BOTH on the same wrench!

I agree, gift class tools sold to people trying to buy that "magical" tool for someone...

Not sure what justifies the continuation of these gimmick tools. They aren't even purchased by casual homeowners - every one of these things end up 50% off at my local Lowes.

Because they sell well as gifts. Even casual homeowners will pick them up from time to time because it looks like a good idea, until they actually try to use them, realize they're a POS and it ends up in their next yard sale.

Yup, I don't have an extended cab truck so space is very tight....lucky I am short so the seat goes pretty far forward....if a tall guy gets in he is not moving that seat back.

Like others said I doubt I would use it very often, but it could be useful if stuck on the side of the road with a blown coolant hose or something.

Yea it is a gimmick but there is a use for it. Who cares if it is quality or new, if it gets me off the side of the road it did its job.

For $20...what do you want.
