Looks like a nice set, looking forward to your "real world testing." I like the foam tray, too.
Can someone tell me why the first ten reviews on the Lowe's website say "This reviewer received this product for free from Lowe's." Is this a brand new product? It already says "New Lower Price" and has been discounted from $39.98 to $24.98. What is going on here? :dunno:

There were a few threads about these around the last two Christmases. I believe they're a special purchase set. The 2016 set was Green handled and 2017 was blue. I think they're not usually stocked and the price will keep dropping until they're gone.

I tried to get a set of the green ones but they were gone quick. From what I read they are pretty decent drivers especially for the money

I bought one of the green sets. A couple of the shafts were crooked in the handles in my set, as well as others who purchased sets. I mean, they're decent screwdrivers, but nothing special. I keep my set at work as backups to my Wera's. For the $20 I paid or whatever I really can't complain, but wouldn't rely solely on them for professional use.

For $25 though, I'd save the money. I can't remember for certain, but I'm pretty sure the green sets came with more screwdrivers and a set of torx drivers.

Yeah, the people that thought the Kobalt green screwdrivers were amazing, high-end screwdrivers just haven't used good screwdrivers. They were decent for the sale price ($20). It was nice sized set...great presentation copying the Mac set but they were nothing special, a notch above HF and that notch was basically the finish. The old blue Kobalt made in USA screwdrivers they clearanced last year were better screwdrivers.

those blue USA hard handle Kobalt screwdrivers are the best drivers ever to have the Kobalt name.

I looked at the new set OP is on about but honestly doesn't look like it would hold up for long. I think the biggest thing about the green set last year was the foam tray and they copied the MAC style.

I got the same set for Christmas. The 'chrome' on the shafts to me looks bad... almost like semi-polished aluminum. Definitely not high chrome finish.

Foam tray looks nice and is laid out nice... but is too small for my box and the screwdrivers are really hard to remove. I cant get my fat finger into the small cutout at the tip and the handles are so far into the foam I cant get a grip on them...

The problem I saw with the lifetime guarantee is that they don’t sell those screwdrivers individually. At least I didn’t see them, so to get a replacement it may be a hassle.

I like the handles on those USA drivers, bought a few when they clearanced them out. All the ones I bought have strike caps. I haven't used them much, but I bent one of the flat heads prying on something. Granted, they are screwdrivers and not pry bars, but I wasn't applying much force when it bent. And i was able to straighten it back by hand.

My P3 driver the shaft came out of the handle. Epoxy fixed it haven't had an issue since.

I don't use these in automotive or industrial uses, but I do use them often even if it's not 'hard'. Haven't had any issues prying small things, paint cans etc with mine.

This is a problem with any Kobalt tool. Constantly changing designs, colors, etc. I bought the green set myself.

I have the green set and like it.
No complaints for the price point and the tips are holding up well. Seem to be decent hardness and overall the comfort is good for the handles.
I tossed the foam tray. Too much space taken up for what is does - I don't need it.
Overall I'm happy with them.
Would I call them a top notch excellent driver...no, but I find them useable and high enough quality for a weekend mechanic like me.
