I know this is an old thread but I was wondering how the owners of the danmar like their lifts. I'm looking at the d10cx which is certified and several hundred bucks cheaper than the equivalent bendpak xpr10cx which is also certified. They look like almost the same lift. Any known differences besides the paint?
I'm planning on cutting 3 inches off the top of the posts because my ceiling is 142" Both of these lifts are 145" tall. Besides having to shorten the cables and maybe drilling new holes for the top support bar can anyone think of any other problems doing this? TIA

Mine's been fine, no problems whatsoever. They guys who put in my lift said they bet if they scratched the black paint off it would expose blue paint :) From what I've read, they're the same.

Thanks for the reply, what's the biggest vehicle you have lifted with this lift? I work on cars and trucks on the side in my garage and I do quite a bit of frontend work and transmissions. I'm wondering if the posts or lift arms flex much with something like full sized deisel trucks.
I looked at a used forward 10k lift and we put a jeep grand cheroke on it. I pulled up and down on the bumper and could see the tops of the posts flexing! It made me nervous!

While comparing the danmar and bendpak lift I found the shipping weight to be 1804 lbs on the bendpak and the danmar is 1560 lbs. hmmm.

Carpenter383,

Below are the shipping weights on the 2 lifts along with the differences.

BendPak XPR-10A 1788lbs
Dannmar Brigadier 10ACX 1665lbs

BendPak has 1 Yr Labor Warranty
Dannmar has no Labor Warranty after Installation is complete.
BendPak uses a 5" Cable Pulley
Dannmar Uses a 3" Cable Pulley
BendPak Post is slightly larger
BendPak Lift Can be installed in Narrow or Wide stance on location.
Dannmar must be ordered in Wide or Narrow stance.

Hope this helps..

That does help, thanks gabe! The shipping weight must vary between websites. One other thing I noticed is the danmar is listed with each lift arm rated at 2250 lbs? 2250x4 = 9000 lbs, but it's rated as a 10000 lb lift. Do you know anything about that?

Have you looked into the price of custom shortened cables?

I had an old service station type lift and it was going to cost over $3000 for a new set of cables...

I looked at an older (made in usa) bendpak a couple weeks ago and it looked like I could simply cut 2 sections of pipe to space the cables lower. There is a decent ammount of threaded adjustment on each cable also which would let me fine tune the length. I would assume the new (made in china) bendpaks are simillar in design

I've had my extended cab long bed big block f250 on there several times without a problem.

Sorry to change the direction of the posting, but I did some recent work on my car and really wished I'd had a lift, then I run across this post.

I see a used lift in my area,,

I spoke with the owner, he said he was really flexible with the price.

Does anyone know anything about this lift - he said it was a Direct Lift, similar if not made by Rotary.

3600 for a used 9k 4 post is way to high, you can get a new benpack with free shipping for alot less.....http://www.bestbuyautoequipment.com/4-Post-Lifts-s/290.htm

I'm really thinking of getting this lift myself. The Danmar 10ACX one.

This is the only picture I took last night that looks ok

I can try to get better ones tonight. The hose isn't actually touching the lock release cable.
