New lift is almost installed.

I bought a MaxJax portable two post lift. We picked it up in Theodore, Alabama on Wednesday. A big crate and a smaller box with the power unit; total of 985 lbs.

Unloaded it Thursday and assembled everything. Today, Friday, I positioned the two towers and drilled the 10 holes for the anchors. Being ****, when I set the anchors tomorrow I'm also setting them in a two part epoxy.

Pictures from starting the unloading of the crate to the two towers and all the other parts out of the truck.

I'll do follow up pictures tomorrow after the units are set in place.

You could have put in a full size lift in that garage and possibly lifted the Jag all the way up at least.

Thanks for the idea, but that would have significantly narrowed the space in the other side of the garage. If I had a three car garage maybe 35 feet wide with sufficient ceiling height I very well might have made a different choice.

any thoughts of installing the high lift tracks for your garage door? Seems awful close to the roof of jag. Not to mention, you could probably lift a taller car if you did so.

I can tell you the lift seems to be very sturdy, well designed and manufactured.
The directions were clear The few holes you have to fill with fasteners (about 20 on the power cart) during assembly all lined up perfectly. I'd looked at a couple of you tube videos prior to picking mine up which made installation easier.

If you order direct from them instead of a reseller and are active military of aveteeran call them direct in Theodore, Alabama and make sure they know that. I got a military discount.

With the door closed the lift reaches the end of it's travel before the roof gets to the chain bar on the opener.

You're going to Really enjoy the lift. It's one of those "Why did I wait so Long?" items.

And let me applaud your wisdom. Both in buying the E-type and keeping it. One of my greatest automotive regents is selling my '62 Series 1, 3.8 coupe back in about '92. Bought it in the late '70s. Of late I've been watching the market in hopes of replacing it, however I've decided it's not gonna happen. Miss the smells, sounds and total Jaguar experience, there's nothing else like it.

You need a Jack shaft screw type garage door opener, and then modify those tracks up to hug the ceiling. Bet you could gain a foot easy in clearance

What size is your shop and how far from the front wall and garage door did you install the lift?

Garage is 20X20 and the back edge of the lift tower nearest the wall is 6" from the wall. The tower is 11'-6" from the wall opposite the garage doors. Tool chests, workbenches and deep sink all stick out 2 from that wall. I located it so all three cars we own fit on the lift with the garage door open or closed with sufficient height to easily work under them.

No, the lift physically doesn't go that high.

Could you detail the process you used for using epoxy with the wedge anchors? I plan on the same. I also think your post was the one that alerted me to the veteran's discount. That came in handy .
