New light fixture

I'm thinking about removing the ugly 4', 2 fluorescent bulb light fixture & replacing it with a 16" round fixture (similar to this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Commerci...onze-Flushmount-2-Pack-EFG8012A-ORB/204192246 ) in the laundry room( about 8'x8'x10') & using 2 incandescent style led bulbs rated at 1600 lumens.

Sorry, this is a comparison question. I'm at work so I have to be quick on the computer.
I'm guessing they should put out similar light even though the smaller 16" light fixture are not as large as the 4' fixture? Would the size of the light bulb matter much if they both put out similar lumens? This is a small laundry room we're talking about.

I had a light similar to the HD you are thinking about in our washroom and wasn't bright enough. I think the globes color cut the light down. About 5-6 yrs ago I replaced it with a Commercial Electric (mfg) flush mount fixture. It is app 16" dia, white w/white globe. Light is provided by a 55 watt T9 circline double circular tube with 9" outside dia. colot temp 3000k, 3800 lumens. I believe HD has the Commercial Electric stuff, probably don't make this light anymore. It's like daytime in there. For what is worth.

Think about "delivered lumens". The 2 lamp 4 foot fluorescent delivers about 3500 lumens. The ceiling bowl with 2 1600 lumen lamps will only deliver about 2000 lumens.

We have a double circiline in our laundry room and it lights it very well. It is a 22 Watt and a 32 Watt. The bulbs say kitchen and bath so they probably are a warmer 3000K for a less industrial look. They have been up for many years and it has been a long time since I changed a bulb. Today, everything is LEDs but these light right up and I have no plan to replace it. The bulbs are exposed below a chrome housing that contains the ballast.
