Has anyone else picked one of these up? I got one today when I returned some of their hansen style trays that didn't work for storing my impact sockets. I had a bunch of old kobalt plastic rails transfered over with perfectly. I'm pretty impressed with it so far, especially for the customizability. I dumped the 1/4 rail and have it set up with 2 3/8 and 1 1/2" I can post some pics tomorrow if anyones interested.

Heck of a bargain compared to the turn lock style bluepoint trays, and much easier to keep clean.

Link doesn't work for me. Is it the socket tray? Those look pretty cool. I could use some socket organization!

i dont know if they changed the design since the picture, or changed since i had one in my hand about a week ago. the backing plate is very sturdy .090 or 1/8 steel and had a nice handle. not really a handle, just a football cut into the steel to run your fingers through.

The one I picked up has a hinged metal handle that you can't see in the lowes site pictures. I will take some pictures of it tomorrow. The only stupid thing about the handle is it only has one on one end instead of both ends.

I've seen them in the store and drooled over them, but not sure if they would hold up. I use craftsman sockets rails - none of the cheaper stuff seemed to last for me. I'd love to hear from others if these hold well. If they do, I'm buying some!

I got one of those in November, and so far, so good. It was less than the $25 bucks shown on the website as I recall -- less than $20 maybe, but I'd need to check.

I've used Craftsman handle-type socket racks for decades and like that system, so I'm not completely sure I'll keep using this one. The Lowes rack takes up more space in my drawer for the same number of sockets as my Craftsman holders. I like the ability to customize the holder placement on the Lowes rack, although I've observed that not all holders on the rack have the same "grip" on a socket. I'm not sure why, though. I'll see when the weather changes and the garage toolbox gets used more.

I have the blue point version of that with swivel handles on the end that you can use in a number of ways. The individual socket holders are lockable as well. They don't look to be so on this version. I like it ok.

Yeah yeah yeah with non-hex sockets you need to cut the trees to store and for the impacts you usually have to go a size up on the trays because of the thickness. They're only meant to hold standard cr-v chrome sockets (pretty much). But they also are two rows so...pretty easy to store some impacts on there gapping them instead of sizing them. But...they're 5 bucks for 3 (while they still stock them) and this is 25 bucks so...meh!

To each his own.

I have one and I would like it more if I could buy extra pieces for it. I would like to have one totally dedicated to 1/2 drive for all of my deep and shallow metric and standards impact sockets.

The parts are interchangable.
You can buy another, pop off the 1/4 and 3/8. And make dedicated racks.

Interesting. How long are the 4 rails riveted to the plate?

From what pictures I can see, the rail and clip style looks identical to what NAPA has for sale under the Carlyle brand.

They sell the rails in three colors (blue/Metric, red/SAE and green/Other) and three lengths (8", 12" and 15").

I've been using those for the stuff that doesn't have a spot on my Kobalt Hansen-style trays (bit sockets, wobbles, etc).

Pretty solid retention, and the rails seem pretty sturdy when fully loaded with some hefty sockets.

I have been using this style for a few years. Works for me.

I finally set up my lowes socket tray today. I took out 3 small rails and 2 large rails and this thing cleaned up my drawer nice. Plus I made a ratchet/extensions drawer which helped. Still need a bigger box.

Its too bad that Lowes tray isnt all 1/2 drive. It would be nice to have all of my 1/2 drive impacts on a heavy duty organizer. It seems like a space waster though due to the large spacing in between the rails.
