hello i have been browsing this forum for a while now and this is my first new thread. i am looking at the new mac awp050 1/2 impact and awp038 3/8 impact. i know a few people have talked breifly about the awp050 and i was wondering if anyone since then has used, held, or know someone who owns either the awp050 or the awp038?

A guy at work has the 1/2 drive and he likes it. To be honest I used one and really liked it. Smaller that my mg725. Its about 450 off the truck. He uses it every day had it about six months and hasn't had any problems so far. If you work in a shop ask if he has a demo., are guy had one anyways.

I was wondering the same thing, I got the 3/8 as a demo today from my mac dealer, he came at the end of the day so I have not used it yet. What I would like to know is how it compares to IR's 3/8 impact in size and power. almost all the 3/8 guns at work are mg 325s. the mac awp038 is about 1/8-1/4" smaller, then the mg325.

i personally own both the ir 3/8 and the matco 2138 and the matco is def stronger than the IR i am actually looking to replace both guns with the awp038 i also have the 1/2 timax and although i like it, i am really impressed with the specs listed on the mac guns and this could be the perfect excuse to buy two new impacts! i just really want to hear someones first hand experience once you use the 3/8 please let me know how it is i am very interested. i wanna hear somethin on the awp050 too

also i was never impressed with the snap on mg325 idk why every one i have used seemed weaker than the IR and the matco all the guys at my shop agree the mg 725 is powerful but the mg 325 is no where near as good. i am def hoping the awp038 is stronger than the 2138 matco gun that is the strongest 3/8 gun ive used so far

I'm using the 1/2 demo gun and my dealer said hook it to the big hose with the big air connector like we use for the one inch guns. So I did. Holy cow does that thing have balls. 2 guys in the shop have the AWP050 guns already but this thing is setup this way is nuts for power. These are a great gun and will probably be my next gun as well.

Uh. Yea? Its flowing like twice the air. Of course its going to be more powerful. But the specs mac lists are for a 3/8 hose not 1/2

i recently met a mac vendor at my shop hes supposed to be stopping by next week. i am happy to hear it performs well. i do like the timax and i am not gonna knock it but all timax owners know the snap on guns are more powerful bu where the timax has a little less power it does handle alot better, has a better trigger, and is def more reliable, at my shop we have 3 timax guns all several years old, none have ever been rebuilt. we have two guys with mg725s and one of the two didnt last a year before it got rebuilt the other was rebuilt one time in 5 years which isnt really bad. the sanp on guns will take off stubborn crank bolts the timaxs wont and i am hoping this new mac gun is more powerful than the snap on gun. it also looks as though it would be very comfortable to use with the way the handle is set up. anybody else with experience with one let me know

I bought a Mac AWP038 recently and really like it. The forward reverse is not as nice as the IR 2115, but it is stronger. It might be a 1/4 wider, but it is very small length-wise, and convenient for tight spaces.
