Has anybody seen the prices for the new Mac ratchets? They look pretty nice. Not sure if they're a rehashed proto design or what but the pictures really have me interested. Thanks!

I dont think they're due out for sale for another month or two. They're 90 tooth so not a straight up Proto copy. They are either all new gears or using the current Proto premium 45 tooth gear with a dual pawl setup.

Interestingly all the flex heads looked like they had a locking feature similar to Matco 88s.

I'd expect pricing to be in line with Snap-On dual 80, Matco 88s.

The new ratchets were in the new catalog. They aren't gimmicky at all and they look super nice. I've got part numbers if anybody is interested? The comfort grip version looks nice.

I hope they are as good at the dual 80's, havent found another ratchet I like as much as snap on. And Ratchets are the only thing I buy from SO anything else my dealer can go F himself.

I like the Snap On 80s but I didn't like the 1/2 version. The ratcheting mechanism was nice but it didn't feel good in my hand. I use 1/2 probably the most and it just didn't feel right. The Macs look a little more balanced. Time will tell.

glad to see Mac push for domestically made original design hand tools. Mac ratchets and wrenches were some of the first pro tools i started using, but after not doing my research a few times and paying top dollar for taiwan products (nothing wrong with them but the price) i steered away from them for a bit. couldnt find these on the website yet though and i dont come across any mac dealers locally

@Mohawk Dave – Both Lista and Vidmar will continue to manufacture different product lines which complement each other, and the support for existing cabinets remains the same.
