I just moved up from that box, mine served me well. Only problem was I ran out of space. I had lots of weight in every drawer, and they all worked great.

Allow me to make a prediction - that box looks so huge now you think you'll never need anything else as long as you live... then in about 6 months you'll be cursing the lack of room... :D

"Stuff expands to fill available space"

Congrats on the new box!

That is a sweet box. I was just going through my old school SO oday thinking I need a bigger box. Got my eye out on CL for a nice box. I got my SO top box from a dude that needed $275 to stay out of jail... needless to say I gave him his get out of jail card. Got the matching bottom to my box from the MAC man. He took it in on trade.

Enjoy that box, and put some air in that tire:bounce:

when i bought my KR550/555 in 1987 i was positive that i'd never have to buy another box, no way i'd ever fill it up, 10 years later i figured out i was wrong... way wrong.....:wtf:

plus a set of snapon/HD 90th aniv boxes, and 3 sets of 26" boxes in the garage, and 2 boxes in my service truck

Normally I'd recommend that you run the bolts in with oil first to clean out the powder coat from the threads ... but it looks like you went ahead and bolted it on already. Were the bolts 1/4"-20 with a 3/16" Allen head? Was there 4 of them?

the desk top isn't bolted down at all, what you see is are a couple of rebars that was used to allow this desk top to be a floating top.I tried to remove them but wasn't able to.Also the top it self weighs about 80 pound or so,so no need to bolt it down:bowdown:

That's a good strong box made in Georgetown, Ohio.

Are they still made in Georgetown? I only live about 15 minutes away, maybe the have a scratch and dent sale from time to time. I know there is a Stanley plant in Georgetown.

Gary

EDIT: I googled Mac Tool in Georgetown Ohio and it came up to the same address with the Stanley name.

I really don't think im going to have any issues with the box for the simple fact that im not wrenching on the car every day and not opening the box every minute.pretty much the most use she will see is in spring and summer time and for the most part would be on the weekends.
