posted my new tools in the new tools post but people wanted to know the specs and more info

mac tools new power tools line up is made by dewalt uses the same 12 and 20v max lithium battery packs and chargers but they are built different then the dewalt common lineup. this is the new promo mag that just came out for the line up people was asking me for the specs

i bought the 12v 3/8in impact as well as the 1/2inch 20v both are pretty stout competitors in the market. the 3/8 being the badass gun in the 3/8s market i think the 1/2 12v just came out but i doubt that will sell well since who wants a 12v 1/2 gun? i do wish they made a 12v 1/4in that would work perfect for me instead of a bit driver dewalt i use.

this is my tools

ive used a lot of electric impact tools over the last few years from the matco first lithium to the snap on 20v newest lithium to this new mac tools one 1/2 guns. 3/8in i had m12 driver and impact as well as the dewalt 12v max 3/8 impact.

the new Mac tools 1/2 is lighter and more balanced weight wise then the SO lithium 1/2in. Torque seems to be about the same the MAC gun does sound little quite compared to my SO

the MAC 3/8 12v is way more beefy then the Dewalt brother. It has more torque and stronger. the 3/8 pretty much removes any bolts including 100lb torqued lug nuts on a full charged battery pack.

overall its real nice tools designed for mechanics in mind. ive heard they have 12v ratchets coming out too but the old shape of the battery would be weird for me and i already have the new snap on ratchets already

Yeah I just purchased the 1/2 gun. I was slightly disappointed for the price point, but I'm pretty invested in the 20v Max Dewalt line. I hope they hurry up with the ratchet, it will be my next purchase.

One question I have, is the grip length any longer on the New MAC impact than the DeWalt? I too have the Deawt but find the grip too small for my gorilla paws.

TheGrooveking

not sure about the grip but the overall body is bigger

In the real world, is it actually more powerful than the Dewalt counterpart?

PERSONALLY, My impression in speaking with my MAC guy (great guy BTW) is MAC is trying to "Right the Ship" and try to get a product line which leverages the various Stanley brands best...he said it himself that things haven't been what they were, but things were headed in the right direction...I believe him too...Just in recent times we've seen MAC release an "In House" designed air impact, now these "Hopped up DeWalt's" which leverage the DeWalt battery framework, which is REALLY nice...now you can get a DeWalt cordless nosehair trimmer and use your MAC Batteries or vice versa. Save a few bucks and get the DeWalt branded Drill so you have one and splurge on the MAC impact..one battery.

With the Portfolio of brands under its belt, there's no reason Stanley/B&D cant put MAC back on the map with a very solid product line...
