New Makita angle Grinder

Been looking for a 4.5 inch angle grinder. I prefer Makita and see on their website they have a few new models out, specifically, the GA4543C01, but I haven't been able to find it listed in any retail store or online. Only Makita makes mention of it here:

Anyone hear of them for sale anywhere? I'm here in Canada.

Also, do the angle grinders normally come with a case?

After some searching I'm seeing that the model number I am posting about is Makita's Canadian line. No big deal. I guess what I'm wondering now is whether I should invest in a 4.5 inch or 5 inch. My first use for it this Fall is to cut some ceramic and/or porcelain tiles for renovating our bathroom, such as a hole in the center of the tile. I should find out what size is most available here in our remote location before purchasing. I've read somewhere that 5 inch cutters might be more difficult to come by.

Exactly what I was going to say. I find 5 are not as easy to find here in Portlandia. Note that I did not say difficult.... I have a 4", and two 4-1/2" grinders, and wheels for a 5" (I bought the 5" at a tool store that was going out of business. In the twisted tool buying part of my brain, it made sense to buy cheap wheels for a grinder I don't yet have and don't exactly need...) if I were to own just one, it would be a 4.5", and depending on how much I planned on using it, I would try to swing a Fein or Metabo.... ( though I can't really complain about my Bosch, DeWalt, or Makita.)

Get a 4-1/2" grinder. Everybody carries a wide selection of stones, cutoff wheels, cup brushes and flap discs for that size.

Im willing to bet the only difference is the guard. Id grab the 5inch just incase.

Only choices for brand here is actually Dewalt. Anything else has to be ordered online (and for a much cheaper price at that!). Now I've got to decide on a paddle switch or the flip or slide switch. The new ones that Makita Canada are listing have rotatable gear bodies. I could see how that would be a nice option, unless you have to first take it apart. I would imagine they are push button for rotation. I sure would like to find where to order those online.

4.5". Paddle switch unless you plan to do a LOT of prolonged grinding. Never needed a case. If anything a tool bag would be more useful.

What about amperage? I can get a nice Makita with paddle for a good price but it's only 7.5 amps compared to the 12 amp with flip switch. I'm assuming 12 amps is much better in that regards.

Anyone using the Fein WSG 10-115T Tip Start? Seems like those button pads would allow some flexibility in how you hold the tool.

If you choose to buy a 5" nothing keeps you from using 4-1/2" wheels a they use the same 7/8" hole. If course the body will be a bit larger (ie less suited for confined spaces). As far as availability of the wheels, the 5" are readily available from abrasive suppliers. Chances are you have one around if you search a bit. I have one that sells Walter, Norton, 3m, pferd sait, etc. they are better products than what is found in hardware stores and are usually about the same price.
