Manland updated 12/29/08

Well...Manland has been completely insulated upstairs and down. The floor level has been sheetrocked and painted and we've been using the garage to work on cars. No installed heat yet..still using a 150K salamander in the garage and a 75K salamander upstairs in the woodshop. Many photos here on my fotki site...

My son and I just finished an 87 BMW 325is paint job. There's an album on the fotki site for this also, but here are a couple of photos...

Well well, looks like someone knows how to paint!!! Nice work! I like the shine on it.
Great set-up to start with - looking forward to seeing it nearer completion.

Just checked out your pics and gotta say - way cool modelling space and projects. Are you going to put that space in the loft?

Thanks! And no, the woodshop upstairs in Manland is going to stay just a woodshop. I'm keeping my modeling room in the basement of our little raised ranch. And actually, once I do a little remodeling downstairs, my modeling workshop space is going to just about quadruple in size! Which is great because now I'll be able to make some display cases for the 50 or so finished models I've completed over the years. Got one more son to leave the nest in the next 2 months or so and then there will just be my wife and I in the house! So 2 of the 3 bedrooms will be used for other stuff now...:bounce:

Looks great, a man of many hobbies. The router table looks great, is the base with the casters a kit? If so, can you tell me where I might find one, or what to even search for? Thanks, Chad.

Sure thing Chad!

Yes the mobile base is kind of a diy kit. You get the wheels and you simply make some 2" square pieces of hardwood for the perimiter boards. This way you can custom make a mobile base for any size piece of machinery.

You can buy them at Woodcraft stores or online through Woodcraft here...

And thanks much for the kind words. I have a lot of interests because when I die, I want to be able to say that I led a full and interesting life! LOL
