Hello all! I'm a new member here and I'm building my first shop. It's 30x36 with 12ft studded walls. I'll be insulating and finishing the inside at some point this year. I also have a gas attic furnace that I'll be installing before the winter. The concrete was just poured yesterday and I had them install a drain in the center. They have not sealed it with anything yet, so I'm trying to determine what I should finish the concrete with.

Should I leave it smooth and just use a typical concrete sealant? Should I use an epoxy coating?

The building will be mostly for storage, not necessarily a "man cave". I've got a compact tractor with front bucket, a commercial zero turn mower, and an ATV to store inside. I'll be using the shop for tire rotations etc, so I'll be using a floor jack and creeper on occasion. I don't mind to spend the money up front if it will be easier. I just don't want to waste money on something that won't last.

Spills, solvents, etc...?
If so these will stain your new floor.

My suggestion for a clear sealer system is clear urethane over clear epoxy.if you want color, I would stick with urethane over epoxy.very durable against the solvents and wear in general. Much more durable than neat epoxy.
