Been lurking here for quite a while, and finally decided to register.
I followed MP&C
over here from Stovebolt.com, mainly to look at his mega-thread on fabrications.
I'm a semi-retired Mechanical Engineer and have been messing with tools, machinery and cars since I was a kid. My mom tells me a story about me being a baby and being able to unscrew and replace a jar lid, and another when I was a bit older when I got hold of one of my dad's old pocket watches and took it apart, taking the pieces to him to ask him to put it back together.
My current project is restoring a 1951 Chevy pickup that was originally purchased by the Alaska Road Commission. It's been a 5 year plus project so far. I restored a 1929 Model A pickup when I was in high school and it was my daily driver when in college. It's long gone now.
I was just looking at the Vintage vise thread, 4000+ pages
I'll have to put on a pot (or two) of coffee to get thru that. This forum is an amazing collection of information.
