I've been lurking on this forum for about five months now and I thought it was time to introduce myself and start posting. I'm embarking on a new car project that will be extensive with a lot of fabrication. I enjoy fabricating stuff to the degree that I'll look for changes that can be made just so I can fabricate something.
My first project was the resto-modification of a 1967 Ford Mustang coupe. I finished this car around 2000 and began showing it. The last time it was officially shown was in 2004. The below picture is from the 2004 Pismo Beach, California car show.
In May 2006 I began my second project. It was a Factory Five Racing Roadster. This project took eight years to build. All the work except for the building of the engine long block and the upholstery was done by myself. It has a Ford 4.6 l modular motor with a Whipple supercharger. It also has a Tremec TKO 600 transmission. I was awarded best interior at the 2014 Factory Five Racing car show in Huntington Beach, California. Unfortunately this car has had some mechanical issues but I think I now have it all sorted out.
My next project is the construction from the ground up of a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback. I'm starting with a Dynacorn body. I've started installing a Heidts Pro-G front and rear suspension with mini tubs. I plan to run a Ford Coyote engine and Tremec T-56 six-speed transmission. Now that I'm retired I hope I can complete this project in a much shorter time frame.
I have a couple other projects that I'm working on that I will post elsewhere in the forum.
I'm one that enjoys the journey more than reaching the destination. I'm looking for the ride.
Britt
