Hello garage enthusiast.
I am a new member to this fabulous place, but have been lurking for quite some times. I have been inspired by so many that I decided to join this great community of well experienced and spirited fans.
I am currently living in Easter PA (Chester County), but spent numerous years living in South Texas (Corpus Christi). My wife and I bought a new home in 2006, which we had the option to semi customize. We opted for the 3 car garage, which I was hoping to keep clean and orderly,… so much for that. We also have 3 boys, which also comes with an array of toys such as bicycles, skate boards, wave boards, etc. Therefore keeping the area neat and tidy was a monumental task. That is why I decided to join this web forum to gather inspiration and ideas on how to keep my garage sort of clean. I also have several toys on my own and like to tinker on my cars from time to time, such as light maintenance to engine drop.
I envisioned my garage sort of like a place where I could separate myself from the kid’s area. I built a half wall a few years ago so my kids wouldn’t hurt my car so much as the one sitting in the driveway with bikes handle bar scratches or miss-swung baseball bat dents,….
It worked for a while (the half wall), but is sort of a temporary fix, I need something practical and workable. Last winter I removed my engine to repair some engine oil leaks, and I was reduced to working in a cramped area forcing me to consistently repositioned jack stand and floor jack,… not ideal.
So, in short I am here to gather info on redoing my garage my way, with of course a limited budget in mind. I was particularly inspired by Jack Olsen’s garage. I have been following Jack on a different forum (Pelican) with his vast knowledge on Porsche cars and such. Others also have been a great source of inspiration, and will continue researching this great Forum for ideas.
