New member from Kansas

Hello everyone!

I stumbled onto this site following the "Garage Bunker" story and have picked up a lot of great information already.

I'm converting my 18 x 20 detached garage into a work shop and replacing it with a 30 x 40 behind the house for cars/storage. I have accumulated a lot of questions as I've hit & missed my way through this process and it's great to see others that have come along the same path and shared their experiences. Looking forward to reading more and contributing as much as possible.

Welcome to the forum. What part of Kansas are you from? I have spent a lot of time around Emporia and Burlington when working at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant.

No pictures, more problems than action right now but that should be changing now that weather has turned for the better.

V8, sounds like you were closer to the flint hills area. I'm in the southeast corner of the state, about ten miles from the Oklahoma line to the south and a little less to the Missouri line in the east.

Yes, as a matter of fact it was the flint hills I was in. It was the first time I had been there that late in the spring and all the farmers were burning their fields. Never seen anything like it. Do they do that in your part of the state?
