I've lurked here off and on for the last year or two. Just signed up today.

I currently have a 3 car attached garage with a drive thru 3rd lane (tandem or whatever the proper term is). It has been working well for me, but I want to be able to store my 5th wheel RV at home.

We are looking at building a large garage in the back yard to hold my RV and have space for a few extra cars/motorcycles/projects/etc.

I will probably spend more time just reading to gather ideas than posting questions in the beginning. Once I learn enough to know what I don't know, I'll be a bit more active in posting the questions.

Hope everyone out on Oklahoma dodged the bad weather over the past few days! My boss is from an area called Wynnewood (I believe I spelled that right) and he said the weather was really nuts out there... he was out there on business and texted me that their were a lot of twisters in his area!

We were lucky and didn't have any tornados this time. The closest one was about 10 miles away.

Many of the residents in my neighborhood are former tornado victims. One of the mistakes we made in 2004 when we built this house was not including an underground storm shelter.

We have been looking at options for including a storm shelter in the detached garage we want to build this summer.

I highly recommend one. It can save lives. I have 2 options. Garage and cellar out back. Been in them 2 times in 2 years, hope do not have to use it this year!

Let me know if you have any recommendations for storm shelter companies. We don't know what type we want or where to buy from.
