Hello all! My name is Matt and I am looking forward working on the garage when it warms up a bit and the snow melts. We have a standard 2 car garage that is attached to the house.

I like to spend time in the garage during the warmer months. I have made it somewhat comfortable already as I have a mini fridge, tv with satellite, stereo, table and chairs, etc. I mostly relax and work on my 87 monte carlo (well what I can do myself). Oh yah I have a nice screen system to keep the bugs out.

What I would like to do depending on the costs this spring is:

Install several more outlets on the walls. I actually only have 1 right now plus the one on the ceiling for the garage door opener. I would like to wire up some additional plugs in the ceiling for shop lights or have them hardwired. I am thinking I would like to install 5. The walls are unfinished and the panel is in the garage so that is good. It should make it a bit easier to run.

I want to finish the walls. At this point I am thinking of doing some cheap ply wood or OSB as I hate dry walling. I may get an estimate for someone to hang and finish it. I don't know yet. I will paint it.

Some inexpensive shelving.

I want to redo the cement floor. The cement is fine so I was thinking of an epoxy coating. I saw the product at Home Depot but I have read places that it may not hold up. I may get an estimate for that too. That's about it.

I look forward learning from this site.

Any suggestions for me?

Matt Welcome to the GJ,say did I read that you have tv and a fridge in your man cave,I am coming to your place...For the inexpensive shelving if you go to the Home Depot (HD),they sell a product that all you need to do is put either 2x2's or 2x4's into them and then you can build shelves all day long to your spec's.
Although I am only 19 cough, cough my mind sometimes forgets names of products but these are like angle type metal brackets that are made special for holding 2x4's. They will even sell you a special box of screws that are made for these products.

All the best Woody:)
