I didnt see a section to introduce myself so I'll do that here. My name is Tom, I am 49 years old and I live in North Mississippi. I have been reading this forum for several months but never posted. (well actually a couple in the test section learning how to insert pics) I have enjoyed the ideas of all of you and wanted to let you know. I think is is great how everyone tries to help each other and am look foward to being part of it. Here is a picture of my first garage, it was built by my dad about 60 years ago after he returned from WWII, he earned extra money in it working on everything, lawnmowers, tractors, and cars. I have 3 older brothers and each of us had our turn working on our own cars. There is no count to how many engines were rebuilt in this little shop.

A few years back I outgrew it and built this shop at the farm I do most of my welding and heavy work here, it doesnt really qualify as a garage but seriously, a lot of the other ones on here dont either :)

Even though I have a nice shop to do heavy work in I have been wanting something closer to the house to tinker around on my bikes and Vette the little garage will soon be relaced with this garage.

Now I just hope that my trial and error efforts in the test section pays off and the dang pictures show up in this post. I have inside pics of both the shop and new garage if anybody is interested.

Welcome friend :hellobye: We'll accept it as a proper intro. And we do like pics so post away. Looks like you need an apron on the double door garage as it would take a little bit of a run to get a car over that hump. :lol_hitti

True, I do need an apron and sidewalk around to the entrance door. First I need the dirt the old garage is sitting on spread around the sides and front of the new garage. I want to do something to the floor in my new garage before I move stuff from the old one to the new one, I'm afraid if I go ahead and move in I want ever finish the floor. Its this forums fault I havent finished, until I joined this forum I thought battleship gray walls and bare concrete floor was all I wanted, after seeing everybody on here's garage I cant make up my mind what to do with floor or walls or anything. I have already painted the inside and am thinking seriously about redoing it with some sort of theme or at least something a little more flashy. :eyecrazy: Here is a couple pics of the inside now.

Nice blank canvas. Did I read right? You're going to tear down the shop your dad built? I think I'd almost have to leave it and maybe make it Vette parking or something special since it was built by your dad and you've used it your whole life. That's just me though.

Welcome to the forum and post pics of the future shop residents as well. Any pics of the Vette?

Yea, it was kinda tough decision to tear down old garage lota varibles, it was pole built 60 years ago and they are rotted at ground now and roof is bad so is siding, only thing salavageable is door which i installed 4 or 5 yrs ago. It is so small and was in the way of the new garage as I wanted it closely accessable to the house. Plus I just spent almost 80 grand restoring the house we were raised in, which would have made momma and daddy proud and the old garage is an eyesore to it. My brother and I talked it over and I got settled in my mind with tearing it down. You could tell by first post I was kinda sad about it but, The Show Must Go On. Now here is a few pics of Vette. I bought it 20 some odd yrs ago and when the first pics were taken it was a daily driver but now it sits all alone in my farm shop needing TLC and home in the new garage.
