Howdy all,
Joined a couple of weeks ago and have been lurking this forum for ideas for an upcoming project.
We are closing on a house next week and hope to move in at the end of this month or early June.
The place comes with a 30x35 foot metal shed. I say shed instead of building as it is not a red steel structure or pole barn but rather one of those pre-engineered types. Wouldn't be my first choice but hey, it is what it is as they say.
Anyhow, I will be 62 this year and plan on retiring in the next year or two (hopefully) and plan to make saw dust in it as I am a hobbyist woodworker.
I will definitely need to insulate it as I want to air condition it. I had just about made up my mind to spray foam it, but recent postings about the potential rust issue have made me re-think.
Anyhow I will be posting a lot of questions as I try to decide how to go, whether it's foam, frame the whole inside or frame a smaller inside space to air condition in it.
I happen to check Craigs List the other day just to see what materials where available and dang my luck if there wasn't a great deal on foam sheets. Of course I don't know what I'm going to do yet, and I don't have access to the place for storage yet, but there it was, what I thought was a GREAT deal.
150 4x8 foot sheets of 1 1/2" polyiso sheets (new) for 420 bucks !!
Oh well, I always do seem to find the deals to late, or too early in this case.
Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for all the great posts and ideas I've seen. And to warn ya'll I will be back to pick your collective brains.
Cheers all
BobL.
P.S. here's a couple of pics of the shed from the listing, sellers toys not mine.
