Hey all,

Not new to forums, but new to this one. Been familiar with this particular means of communication/info exchange for years now (strong history with automotive forums)

I've got a lot of questions I need help with that pertain to my current living situation and what I'm trying to do with my detached three car garage, if I need to make a new thread in a specific section, just let me know.

I've got a strong history in auto mechanics and aftermarket involvement for import tuning/track things, any questions etc are welcome.

Now, tell me where to post my big question thread, or should I start some kind of garage renovation thread to post to forever and always involving my own garage space?:question::question:

In addition to my original post, let me lay down a few key elements.

I need to run two more 220 outlets in my garage, simple enough, I think I have that part figured out (history in electrical/HVAC work)

I also need to frame in a small corner of my garage for a larger sized compressor (60-80 gallon tank, with door and insulation/sound deadening((yes both))

Most importantly, I'll be adding a lift into my third bay, above which is attic storage that I desperately want to dip into.

My garage is roughly a 3 bay structure, with almost 1.5 car depth. Over sized, for sure. The first two bays have door openers and typically used for daily parking of vehicles for work. The third bay, however, is intended for personal projects and side work, and that will (maybe just for ease of work) necessitate a lift. I could feasibly install my lift of choice without cutting into the attic space, but I feel two thirds of my garage attic is suitable for storage, while I could totally (with guidance) tear into the attic space above the third bay to accommodate full lift height, and have a very nice final product with drywall and insulation.

Again, questions are welcome and advice is needed. Thanks in advance.

Welcome from bama.

One suggestion and or comment. The search function is somewhat limited. I use google. Google garagejournal (whatever topic) you are hunting. For example. Garagejournal compressor enclosure That pulls up a number of threads. Threads often old but lots of useful info. I'll also do same search and look at google images until I find something fiting what I'm after then look at that thread.

Welcome to the forum from S.E. Wisconsin.

You asked about threads, if the questions you have are on a totally different subject, then start a new thread for each question.

Slide: looks like you are getting a lot of help already. like mentioned if you do a Google search and find threads already talking about the things you want to know more about those are where i'd ask my questions. if you can't find good threads or any that have been visited recently and the subject is worthy then just start a thread.

if you do want to start a garage gallery thread which it sounds like you are probably going to might i suggest updating it often with good information and pictures. also make comments on other threads sharing your wisdom or asking questions and getting to know us while we get to know you will help us find your threads to help or post up some KUDOS.

cheers and WELCOME
