Hay LeeBoy, that’s really coming along.

I have been offline for a bit so pardon me if a drop back a couple of posts. When I was looking at the walls going up and the small shed near the side wall I thought that *****, but then noticed your builder put timber and vapour barrier on the wall before standing it up (that’s smart thinking). I’m guessing the little shed will be moving once the big one is finished (?)

12/06/06 Actually tommorrow morning I have to clean out the shed so that we can move it over a couple feet so they can put on the siding. I tried to get the contractor to put the wall up with the siding on but he didn't want to. I am actually glad since I helped them stand the wall up with the sheething on it, let me tell you it was a real bear.
I will post more pictures tommorow. They will have the siding completed and the insulation in.

12/07/06 These pictures were taken at 4 PM. It has started to snow pretty heavy. Luckily they are just finishing up the work they have to do outside. The white steel siding that will be going on the interior walls won't be arriving until the 15th so there won't be much more progress untill then.

I will also be running speaker wire in the walls so I picked up these speaker wall plates. I will be mounting the speakers in the rear corners up near the ceiling. These wall plates will go behind the speakers so I only need to run a short wire from the wall to the speaker. The other wall plate will go in the wall behind my stereo tuner/receiver with only a short wire in between. I got these from radio shack for about $6 each.

The steel finally came in for the interior. The guys got the steel put on the ceiling and all of the lights done but one that has to be reordered. The lights are the 8' high output florescents with magnetic ballast and 95 watt T-12 bulbs. Hopefully we will have everything complete inside this week then the high lift garage doors can go in.

I built a garage this summer. I wish I had the money now to buy steel for the inside. Looks GREAT.

I got the Satellite home from my neighbors garage. The Dart and the Charger are at my sister-in-laws, they'll have to wait untill I get a couple lifts. The Power Wagon is still at the guys place that gave it to me. The drive way gets finished next week also.

Your garage looks great. What dimensional lumber forms the horizontal members for attachment of the inside steel? I can't tell if it's some kind of furring strip or a 2x of some kind...I'll have a couple interior walls that I'll need to do something similar on.

Thanks Dave. The contractor attached furring strips to the 2x6's to attach the steel.

Well it's been awhile since an update. The contractor put in my driveway and went as far as he could with the garage untill the garage doors were installed. That's were were ran into a small glitch. I had warned the contractor about the company that he was having put the doors in. I had heard several people comment about them in the past. They are very difficult to get in touch with and don't return your calls. The one prblem is that they have the best doors in this area so he was stuck. The doors were supposed to be installed on the 28th but the people never showed up. I called my contractor and he tried to get in touch with the door people. They wouldn't answer their phone. So Tuesday he called them from my house so his number wouldn't show up on caller I.D. Sure enough they aswered on the second ring. ( Needles to say my contractor will not use them in the future) They assured us they would be here today. They got here about nine this morning and fiished up around 2:00 PM. There was a problem with one of the openers so they needed to get some parts and they need to install a couple pieces of weather stripping around the doors.
:bounce: The good news, were weather tight and the concrete is warming up with the radiant heat. The contractor also sealed the floor today. The only thing he has left to do is hook up my air compressor. He tried to hook it up last week but one of the screws on the pressure switch wouldn't tighten up so I had to order a new one. I will update with more pics of the inside as I get moved in.

Here are some more pics. I also got my shed moved over a little so the siding could be put on that side of the garage.
