Hello garage junkies. My wife is not going to be enthusiastic about me finding this website/forum.
We are going through the steps of buying our first house right now. Pending no issues with our mortgage getting approved, we will be moving into a 4br, 3ba, ranch home with an attached garage. Real estate sheet shows 1008sq ft but I think that may be a little generous based on our first walk through. I will get a tape measure on it tomorrow during the inspection.
I'm planning on doing pretty much everything as the garage is white sheetrock and bare concrete. The garage will see projects of all sorts. Trucks, UTVs, snow mobiles, carpentry, small motor projects, welding, etc etc. I'm a civil engineer by degree and I'm always tinkering with something.
Right now based on my minimal research I am thinking Rust bullet floors with a basic cove base, 2-tone painted walls, and Newage Products cabinets in a corner configuration along with my tool boxes. There is a high ceiling too so I will probably add a row of Newage overhead storage racks above the garage doors for bins and misc storage. Pending my measurements, there may be room for a wet bar or couches/TV by the home entryway but like I said, we will see after I get some dimensions to confirm size. Everything else will be hidden away in the attic.
The real trick is going to be shipping.... We live in Alaska. I cant imagine a pallet of cabinets is going to be cheap to get up here!
