Hello to all you garage guru's.I have been lurking the past few weeks and decided I needed this forum to further my education. And endeavor to restore a 1938 single car garage.
A short story on this property is that it was at one time the Nurses quarters for the Buffalo WY Hospital. The actual hospital is neighbors to the south. It was at one time one property and has since been sub divided.
It has a 19'X12' detached garage that is 63' from the house.I have just began demo'ing the interior removing this fiber board like material that was used for ceiling and wall coverings,4'X8' sheets lightweight with gazillion little nails.I have been surprised at the quality of the construction and materials used when it was built. It smells like new construction, dead center full dimension 2"X4" @16" centers on the wall studs and rafters. It has a few problem areas that I will be addressing in future threads. I am pretty competent with tools and have the necessary skills to do justice to this great old garage.
