Just joined the forum and gonna purchase floor tiles but can't decide between racedeck or garagedeck for the lower cost. Anybody know what forum discounts are offered for racedeck?

Thanks for the link. My only concern holding me back is I gave seen a few people say water getting under the tiles can cause mold. With the hollow honeycomb type backing could this possibly be an issue?

I'm in Columbus Ohio. My main concern was snow/slush melting off the vehicles and water getting under the tiles but normally we only get a few good snow storms a year so I am probably over thinking it. Gonna pull the trigger tonight on 800 sq feet of garagetrac in graphite and alloy

Might want to grab a free sample from them before you drop that much coin. Not saying that they are a bad it's just something that you can't really go back from.

I just moved this thread to the Flooring Section. We have several dealer/members that offer some top notch advice as to what you might need.

If the garage floor is sloped toward the overhead door or toward a drain, there are slots under the tiles for the water to run and drain away. But the tiles fit together pretty tightly so if you wipe up the water right away I doubt any water will get under the tiles. Obviously, if the water sits on the floor for awhile it may find its way thru the tiles, but it would take some time for that to happen.

You'll be fine. Years ago, before finding the Racedeck discounts I did two garages with Garagetrac. I don't have snow, but I do have heavy rain. Floors have been down about 5 years & due to changes I keep making in equipment locations I've popped up several sections of tile. Never seen any mold, or for that matter much of anything else. The tiles mate tightly & very little leaks through them. They allow air under so most liquids just evaporate. Oils & most petroleum products wipe up easily, & small paint drips pop off easily after they dry.

Sweeping is usually enough to keep them clean, but once in a while I use an old steam mop to get the worn in dirt. If they get dull, a little wax brightens them up. Five years in & I still get compliments on the appearance.

I just went through the Garagedeck vs. Racedeck decision. I asked for a sample of the same color for each product. Once I had them in my hand and laid them on the floor for a week, I decided on Racedeck. The Garagedeck tiles have more visible plastic mold lines in them. The circletrac pattern was smaller than Racedeck and the tile wasn't as thick. The Racedeck tile was just nicer. In the end, I figured I wouldn't remember what the price difference was in a few years anyway. Use the garagejournal discount and it's not that far off. I was sold on garagedeck until I had both tiles in my hand.
