Hello all, I am a recent member to this site and am moving into a new garage in about a month. I decided I want to heat the garage and eventually epoxy the floors. My first task is to get a heater installed. Floors will probably wait until spring at this point.
I've read through many of the posts on best heaters and heater types and it seems to depend on a lot of factors such as location, insulation, fuel type, and garage size.
My garage is a 3 car garage. The double door side is 25 feet deep by 20 feet wide and the single door side is 21 feet deep by 11 feet wide. The garage is also insulated and has a natural gas line already ran into it. I live in northern Illinois, so cold temps were considered. I also have a 220 outlet available.
From what I've found, it seems that Reznor is a favorite brand among a lot of readers here. I've looked into them and am thinking about a Reznor 75BTU UDAP or UDAS model.
But looking for some advice before pulling the trigger. What are some pros/cons between the UDAP or UDAS models? Could the 75BTU be overkill? Are there any similar brand models that would be recommended?
Also can anyone recommend a local hvac company that specializes in garages heaters in the northern IL area?
