After spending a couple grand last month on auto work, I finally decided "enough." I'm either going to start doing it myself or least be educated enough to know what mechanics are recommending and whether it needs to be done. I'm reading tons and slowly tinkering with new tasks.

Be careful tinkering with cars though. It's very rewarding to do the work yourself and you can save a ton of money in labor costs, but it can be highly addictive!
