Hi,just joined up, got a 40x50 all metal, 6" slab, big footers, all engineered and i'm getting around to maybe building a loft in the back corner for storage. Money is scarce, so i'm doing everything myself. I weld some, but would prefer to use mostly lumber but wonder how to attach to girts which will be at my top deck height. I think i'm going to frame up 4 walls and bolt down so i'm not sure how much I need to tie into existing structure. Any similar pics' or ideas would be appreciated.

Welcome. Please keep in mind that girts are not structural. Their only purpose is to hold up the sheets.
