Hello! Single mom here, new to the forum and will try not to annoy with too many stupid questions...
I’m renting a 2 bdrm house with a large open living room that my youngest son is currently using as a bdrm. Curtains were fine for a while but now he’d like a “wall” and I can’t say as as I blame him.
The two spaces to be filled in are square and measure approximately 92”x58” and 45”x58”
Was thinking of picking up some sheets of foam board and snugging in place with weather stripping so as not to make any permanent/ structural changes to the house.
Is this an ok idea? Safe? Can I paint the stuff?
Thanks so much for any tips or other ideas!

Welcome to the forum from the shore of San Diego Bay in the Southwest corner of California. Being a single parent is a tough job.

Not being able to see your house I can't really make recommendations without seeing your situation.

From here I would entertain the idea of an L shaped, two wall structure, sheathed both sides with Drywall. I like 2X4 framing and attachment to the existing building is best determined by your existing structure. A picture is worth 1000 words.
