Just picked this lathe up. Got it for a cheaper price, and comes some tooling and an extra set of gears. Now I'm just wondering what else I could do with it while I'm not using it for things I need. Thanks.

Might help to know what types of things you think you need to do with it (or what else you keep in your shop or garage). Years ago I had a neighbor who used his to tumble stones when it wasn't busy doing something else. Somehow I doubt that was what you were looking for.

What brand of machine is it?

Kind of a broad question. I mean you can make washers and spacers to your spec and not have to buy. It's a drill press for long objects not easily clamped up in a conventional DP. Looks like that one will cut threads too. The list goes on.

Ever used one before?

Try making some basic stuff, like a brass hammer, a set of punches, tool handles, etc

It's an old atlas clausing 6 inch metal lathe. I've dabbled in metal lathe, never had my own. I've used someone else's before to make solid car bushings out of aluminum.

I got it for cheap and don't need it quite at the moment but I couldn't pass it up. Was just wondering what else I could do with it before I really need it.

My philosophy is I'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. Wife doesn't understand yet but she's learning lol.
