Well, through numerous challenges, finally got my garage floor done this weekend. 1 base coat dark gray. Two full kits of light gray and one half kit of dark gray. Poly top coat and lots antiskid.
20-25 minute working time. Was able to apply 600sqft at once by myself. Mixed the two base light gray epoxy kits together at the same time in two buckets with two drills and spread at the same time. 24 inch squeegee from HD to spread and 18inch roller for single back roll. Then mixed and poured the half kit over the entire area. Used the stiff squeegee, backrolled twice, and started to clean up. It started eating away at me that the backroll blended it too much so I ran back over it with a flimsy 18 inch magic trowel to break the colors up. It's was getting tough to work with and I definitely smeared some down to the primer in a few spots, but the poly covered it up. It's a clear epoxy that they provide metallic powder additive for the color and effect, which I enhanced it by adding the additional darker gray coat on top. The less you play with it, the less it blends. It also flows a bit while it cures and probably took a few hours to settle to it's final effect. I really liked how it looked before I backrolled after I added the dark gray and kicked myself for rolling against my better judgement, but like I said, it still flows for awhile anyway.
