I just pulled the trigger on a new to me millermatic 185 and miller cricket. Heres what I got

miller cricket with bottle, recepites for all and both have carts

I paid 700 for both, but am probably selling the cricket.
did I get a pretty good deal?

I'd say yes, that cricket should bring a couple of bucks, and4-500 for a 185 is a good deal with the bottles...Shawn

Yes very good IMHO, as long as they work properly. The MM185 is a really nice machine a bit older, but still a great machine. It's modern equivalent is ~the MM212. It was designed as a light industrial machine. Nice rockwell mini mill BTW

The crickes are decent little machines as well. What model cricket is it?

IIRC they made a few variants. Cricket, Cricket XL, Cricket 220, Cricket ? One was a 70amp unit the other a 90? They are roughly equivalent to the modern MM140, ~90amps @ 20%

Hell yeah!! Any miller 220V mig machine with an owned bottle is worth $600-$700 in my neck of the woods. I'd have to run out the door and be on my way to grab it within a few hours if it came up on CL. They go FAST to say the least around me.

I've never used the cricket, but you'll definitely offset your investment by selling it. I have a MM 130 I use religiously at home. They are great units.

You probably need the room but for a while I would keep the cricket setup. You already own it, its an extra bottle you can tap id needed as well as a regulator,,, unlikely bu8t it does happen,,, but put 023 in it for super sheet work if you have it? For general I like 030 in the 185 class machines.

I would have plenty of room if I would get rid of 2 of the 3 lathes I don't need. lol the stick welder/tig power unit is huge! thanks for the reissurance of what I thought was right! thanks fellas, for helping me feed my ADDICTION!

Need room ? How about a new welding project ? Why don't you build a cart that will hold both welders (stacked) and both bottles ?

Two welders in the floor space of one.

yeah I am going to have to build a nice cart. I have what you see there plus a plasma cutter not pictured that I need to build a nice cart for.

the power source is a linde HDA 200, it has a foot pedal too super nice on the soft start. and yes that is a Lincoln HF box, its 500AMPS at 60% duty cycle. bought it for 75.00 from a wholesaler, also paid 75 for the miller coolmate4

Well sounds like you are all setup to weld about anything now. Does the HDA not have build in HF capabilities? You **** on the coolmate4 for $75. Wish I could find one of those. :scared:

Nuttsgt, made a very good suggestion, why not go vertical with the cricket. Heck it looks like you have some room to spare on top of the linde. :dunno:

Nice to see your daughter helping you...."organize" your box there.

yeah she loves to help "organize" lol. she stays handing me sockets and wrenches when im working on something.

yes it does have HF but I just thought it might be better to run it through the Lincoln unit, that's what I was told anyways. I don't have the argon to run it yet, that's all im waiting on now.

I know the size of the MM185 and the kennedy box and coolmate on top, that Linde must be HUGE.
