I couldn't find a way to link the FB video, but took a screen shot.

These didn't seem notable until they showed the squared bottom of the socket.

See attached.

Wow, interesting. Thanks. I think Milwaukee is one of the most innovative tool company around right now. Their hand tools keep taking up more and more space at Home Depot.

It's aimed at construction trades.

Ratchet feels sturdy, but doesn't feel like it has a full length metal handle. It's light.

Ratchet mechanism is loud, could probably use some lube. It has a small head, I'll try to compare to my Gearwrench swivel.

Sockets have a nice feel, squared off for adjustable wrench use.

I hate the case, maybe it'll grow on me.

Ratchet is only part of the set for now.

Comes with hex and 1/4 square adapters.

$70.

I have one on my bench. Questions?

More import junk.

I hear ya but Milwaukee's been successful at holding Chinese manufacturing to a higher standard. I can't count how many pairs of their scissors I have, they're awesome. And I like the small (6" I think?) dykes, too.

Point being some of their hand tools are great. There were fails for me, too - I just can't stand any of the tape measures.

Milwaukee.

Had a call and presentation with them today, a sampling of new hand tools arrived yesterday.

Also included was a new hammer, laser distance measuring tools, the new "general contractor" tape measure, lockback knife ($15).

Are the square bottoms of the sockets sized to accept the same size open end wrench (or some other standard size?) if need be that there's room for the socket but not a ratchet or perhaps put both a wrench and a ratchet on it at the same time for 2 people to be able to gang up on a stuck fastener.

If the ends are just random-sized squared off could always do the same with an adjustable, but would be interesting to know, for example, if a 3/4" open end fits on the outside squared end of a 3/4 socket or not.

why the hell would you want to put an adjustable wrench on a socket?

why don't they just knurl it for a pipe wrench instead?

a hex for a wrench like a spark socket would make st least some sense.

some ideas are just so stupid it makes you wonder where these people come from.

Hopefully made in Taiwan. I've been very happy with Milwaukee hand tools made in Taiwan. I would pick those over DeWalt made in USA with global parts.

I would doubt it. This is my complaint w the hex shanks on the nut drivers - they're random sizes. If, say, a 7/16" took a 7/16" wrench I'd say that makes sense. IIRC *some* of them do match, some do not.

The flats on the sockets are another example of Milwaukee trying too hard to be innovative. It's one of those things that sorta seems like a good idea but 1 in 1000 of us will use it over the course of 10 years.

They are sized for standard wrench flats, but not the same as the socket size.

Maybe it's partly for differentiation, but I can see some benefits. What if you need more torque? Breaker bar? How many contractors carry a breaker bar? Adjustable wrench, maybe adjustable wrench + mallet?

Made in Taiwan, the new framing hammers too.
