Started building a stand for my new saw today. The working height is 36-1/2" which matches my DeWalt TS and the flip down assembly table I built the other day.

The miter saws table drops down 5" for storage in the cabinets I am building. The TS and Miter saw simply roll into the bottomless cabinets for storage behind closed doors.

I still have to put the back panel on the stand and pick up some hardware. Eventually I will add some extension wings but will wait until I start building the cabinet since I had to make it a little bigger than I initially designed. The overall footprint is 33" x 20-1/4".

I have a stand I bought a long time ago, it is made by Ryobi. It isn't the best stand around, but it works OK and I like it because it folds up and makes it easy for me when I need it at a job site. Price was decent too.

Yeah i thought about just buying a folding stand but the problem there was that I couldn't find one that would fit inside of the cabinets I was building. Since I no longer do carpentry professionally anymore I didn't need the portability.

I built this one from Shop Notes about 15 years ago and it really served me well for a long time.

That is their picture not mine, but mine came out very similar. Most of the the Shop Note plans include a cutting diagram to minimize the waste wood and more important the projects helped teach me how to use my basic shop equipment & tools more accurately. That set up was very portable and easy to bring into the house or wherever.

I now have a different chop saw set up now in my new shop and gave that one (including the miter saw) to a young co-worker who just bought his first house. He still uses it all of the time and made his new little girl a bed a and some kid toys.
