Hi Guys,

I have been reading your forum for a few weeks now since I finally installed power in my garage. I built my garage 3 years ago. It is a 30x 36x14 steel building.
I have a 70 Challenger and 70 Datsun 510 (track day car) that I tinker with.

Welcome to GJ, Herb.

With a beauty like that Challenger and a 30x36 garage, you will need definately need to post some pix of the garage and 510.

Pics of the 510 please....

I had a 510 that I sold long ago that still calls to me occasionally. Mine had a 5-speed from a 240, the 4.38 rear (also from the 240), a LSD, SSS head, Autopower roll bar, and lots of other small stuff. Very fast steering ratio, and very light.

When I took it to SCCA drivers school in the 70's, I was the only fool that actually drove their race car to the track- everyone else had haulers, trailers, etc. I was a poor struggling college student at the time and couldn't afford another vehicle to tow. I used to run cast-off race tires on the street because I could get them for practically nothing, and they were very quiet when driving heard on the street. Not very good in the wet, though.

Where do you run yours? NASA, SCCA?

Here are some pics of the garage and the 510. No inside pics yet. It is still dark. Should have lighting in about a month. Built the garage by myself except for the concrete work. All my friends are the "no dirty hands" type so no help from them. It is a Miracle Truss building which is easy to assemble just time consuming. If had to do it over again I would pick something more residential looking.

The 510 is just a street car that I can do track days at Summit Point with. Gave up on organized racing a long time ago. Not enough talent or money.

nice looking challenger. I especially love the rims. Reminds me of the AAR racing in the 70s between challengers, chebby camaros, javelins and Turd mustangs :)
