Wanted to take a moment and show off my new bike lift. I of course found the idea online and really liked the simplicity and cost.

(Scroll down a bit. BTW- there are lots of great lifts on that thread)

I work as a fabricator, and have a great boss. With projects like this it's usually "As long as you make me one too..." So, I got most of the material free from the scrap bin and the rest at cost. I then only had to buy the winch. The build went pretty smoothly all in all. I tried to make a few improvements, but really, it works so well as is, that here is not a lot to change. I reused the roll in chock that I built a while back.

First test with my dirtbike-

All painted with the big bike on it-

The big bike goes under the knife for a motor swap, suspension/wheel/brake upgrades and possibly a Hondaline fairing. I wanted to get this finished to get started.
My last table was just a platform with braces under that I had to jack up each end independently. It was fairly time consuming and involved. Going for a quick test ride was always a tremendous pain. This should really help!!

I also suffer terribly from "flat surface dumpster" syndrome. As you can see in the background, my shop is always a disaster! If it's flat, I'll pile **** on it. I'm putting forth a real serious effort in changing my ways. I wanted to try this set-up since there is no place for me to dump junk.
I will still need a place for tools, so I intend to build a couple of quick release trays that clamp to the main channel for tools, oil change pans, etc. I built this one to hold a scissor jack. It locks on to the rail with the screw-pin set-up that I designed.

I wanted to be sure the jack is secured to the table when the bike goes up. I haven't decided whether or not to weld the jack to the plate, or try to bolt it. I guess it would be nice to not be dedicated only to be used on the lift, but it's probably not that big of a deal. The entire thing will store clamped to the winch mount when not in use.

That's a nice lift. Did you engineer it out or just design it on the fly? Is it stable at full height in case you bump into the bike? I like the screw jack, nice to be able to get the back wheel off the ground for drivetrain related issues and tire changes.

Here's mine from the Adv thread. I really wanted to make my own but came across this for $300 and said oh hell yes. It's a southworth hydraulic lift table 36x72. 2500# capacity, 230/3
