New (Old) Delta Bandsaw - Help Needed

Hi all, I just picked up an old Delta bandsaw from LetGo recently for $50. The saw came with an old manual that said it was Model 890. I've looked for a serial number but can't find any. One other posting here showed a red one that looked very similar. Saw included the base stand, metal light shade (no socket), Mitre gauge and fence (with mounting brackets) and Delta 1/3hp motor with 3 step pulley. Removed the top and bottom wheels to replace bearings and found that the lower spindle is not tapered as shown in the 890 manual.

I hope it's a good deal with all the replacement parts it needs. Planning on tires, cool guide blocks, all bearings, tension spring, new blades and motor upgrade (I have one already).

I need some help with;
-Identifying model & year
-Where to get replacement wheel bearings for (upper 87502 & lower 87504 bearings removed from saw, Manufacture-New Departure). 87504 bearing not listed in manual as lower but 88101 is and upper 87502 is listed in manual.
-Replacement upper/lower blade support bearings. Upper bearing removed was a 6200Z and lower was 77500 (same as in manual)
-New tension spring (Is Iturra the best part)
-Upper wheel hinge (part that pushes upper when is worn down)

All bearings have double metal shields.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Pics provided.

Thanks Ron. I've been looking on both Vintagemachinery.org and OWWM.org and it's a little bit all over the place. I've seen a lot of folks mention both Accuratebearings (and Lynn) and Iturra Design. I'll give them a try as well as Applied Industrial to see if there are matches for Timken.

Bearings is bearings. There's nothing on that Delta that your local bearing supply house won't have in stock.

That could be a pre-serial number Delta. I'm not sure when the model 890 came out but Delta made 14" band saws without serial numbers for a few to several years from maybe the mid-30's to the early 40's at the most.

You might start searching for 14" band saws on Vintage Machinery and see if you can find any with serial numbers from the early 40's and where those numbers were and what kind of plate they were on and where they were mounted.

Keep working your way backwards until you find some without serial numbers.

Thanks. I've searched those sites and found some really good info. It's just that some parts don't match the parts list so it's throwing me off. I get it with the bearings, the previous owner probably measures them and found the 87504 and 6200Z are suitable replacements. I'm not concerned about using the original bearing though. I'll give Lynne a call next week.

Just placed an order for bearings, guideposts and accessories from Iturra Design. Looking to get parts by weeks end.

Just an FYI, when placing my order with Louis himself and had a nice chat, as he's known to do, he informed me that he plans to retire in @5 years as his kids don't want the business.

Sad to think of this great buisiness with great customer service disappear for those that need parts for old bandsaws.
