Long time lurker, finally got around to posting a bit. Thought I'd better say howdy! My name is Joe. Like many of you, I've found some great ideas to unashamedly steal on this site. Learning from others mistakes and successes suits me fine. I've already made enough mistakes of my own and I was always happy to share any successes I ever stumbled on to.
I'm a very blessed individual as I finally got to build my dream shop
2 years ago when the kids grew up and moved out and we downsized houses and upsized garages in preparation for retirement and old age. I still didn't achieve equality; the house runs 2.5:1 to the shop but since I got to retire first, I'm not complaining. 
The new house is all on a single level (No stairs-my knees rejoice!) with an ADA front entry, an ADA shower in the master bath and plenty of small touches like handrails in the bathrooms among other things to help out as we age.
This is now the 4th house we've had in almost 40 years of marriage and my wife is just now starting to forgive me for uprooting her with "my gypsy ways" The last 2 moves have taken us progressively further east and south in the valley, from her beloved Tempe, to Gilbert (which she used to call "Timbuk3..its WAY past Tibuk 2) to our final home in lovely Queen Creek. Which she called Timbuk 23 for the first 18 months. I guess the fact we've gone, 7, 11 and 19 in our previous homes doesn't count for much for a girl that was born and raised in the same house that is still in the family. But she loves her new house and has finally settled in and grown to love QC, if not necessarily her longer commute.
One of these days when my to do list grows shorter, I'll have to do my own Garage Build thread. Don't hold your breath, I'm gettin' slower. Until then, its nice to be here.
