I joined up almost two months ago. Married for 34 years. One daughter and one granddaughter. Found about this place from papaw's tool talk site. I got my first car in 1966. It was a 1955 English Ford Angila. Owned 7 more over the years.. I got my first Chevy in 1967. I grew to like 235 Chevy 6 cylnder engines and presently own 22 of them. I worked on and off in a wrecking yard ( Brian's Salvage and Junk ) in Napa California from 1968 to 1981 then I moved to Vancouver Washington. I went to work at a wrecking yard In Portland Oregon and have been the engine mechanic there for 27-1/2 years. I like old mechanical things. I have always owned old cars and trucks. I like simple things. I aways liked 56 Chevy's owning 11 of them over the years. My present one I have owned since 1976 and I am currently building a mild 261 six cylinder engine for it. My current daily driver is a 1977 Ford F150 with a 300 six cylinder / C4 combo. I also like Ford Flatheads, Hudson sixes, Buick straight 8's and nailhead engines and most older engines. I collect both old and new tools, woodworking machines, firearms, books and old small gas engines. I am going to be retiring in a few years, so I wil be selling some of the stuff I have aquired over the years in the classifieds here. I sell on papaw's tool site and The Ruger Forum fairly offen. I no longer sell on eBay do to a conflict with one of my hobbies. I am using a WEBTV / MSNTV2 web browser to post here, not a computer. This unit does everthing I need it to do. My user name came from the Inliners International car club were I was Dr.235 because of my knowlage of 235 engines. I added the Evil later when I quit smoking cold turkey 17 years ago. Any questions ?------------
Rich people drive old cars because they want to and poor people drive old cars bcause they have to --------------------------------------------

Welcome to the GJ board. Good to have a few "old timers" around that know how to diagnose and fix vintage cars. Many younger members may benefit from your experience.
