Hello guys,

This is my first post, just wanted to share pictures of my new vise that I got yesterday to see what you guys think....

I got it from an old timer that bought it new more than 25 years ago and left it in the box in his garage. All original and untouched.

I hate to break it to you but it cant be 25 years old or more, the box is too new :D plus this
Sheffield's area code changed to the current 0114 code on 16 April 1995

So it can't be older than 19 years. Still a superb vise though and much better than the Chinese Irwin Record ones (some of the bigger ones are still UK but they are really not cheap.) so its a great find to get one in that condition.

Very nice!

I bought a Record No.4 new in the '70s and still have it. It's been a great vice. I saw a No.4 at the Barrie Automotive Flea market last month that looked like it had never been used. It wasn't nearly as clean as yours but the decal was like new. I would have picked it up for the $70 that he was asking but I already have too many of them.

You're going to like using that vice. I'd put the box away in a safe place. It will be fun to look at it years from now.

^^^^^ agreed, the box itself is unique. The whole thing should be in a vace museum.

What a find!!!

PS: if we know the price we could issue the coveted "You ****" award and on your very 1st post too. Welcome to the forum!
