New 'old' tools----a couple home-built planes

A couple planes (the only 2!) I've built and still use. Small rabbet plane and wood smoothing plane.

My block place is a Record and I have a Record bench plane and a Stanley jointer plane as well.

Sweet those look nice. What species of wood did you use?

Thanks. The smoother is all Maple. The wedge in the rabbet plane is Cherry with mild steel sides, brass center and Clifton blade.

I've been wanting to do a rabbiting plane for some time now. Won't be happening soon. I do like what you've done.
