New (old) vise. MTECO No 450.

I don't know much about it but it has 5 " jaws and is very large and heavy. It kind of looks like some of the Japanese ones I have seen but I don't think it is. It doesn't say Japan on the bottom. Also I had to fab up a new center bushing for the rotating part and the threads it the main casting were 1/2 NC. I like it a lot and mounted it on my welding table. Just curious if anyone knows anything about it like who made it, where was it made ect.

"Made in Japan", probably a really decent vise.

Thanks for the information. I'm sure your correct as it does look like that one. Mine does not have Japan cast into it and I was surprised to find that the threaded part of the rotating base was 1/2 " NC threads. I though it would be metric from Japan.
