New outside automotive slab

Hi,
I have a 20x25 slab that is about one month old. It is 4000psi concrete. The slab will have an auto lift on it and will be used mostly for hobby automotive work, but it is outdoors in southern california. I would like to protect the slab from oil and stains, and also from idiots dragging transmissions and motors across it and throwing tools at it. I was thinking of using a colloidal silica densifier like Xtreme Hard because I'm nervous about using toxic silicates around our children. Is this my best bet to protect my new slab? Any other options?

I prefer not to have a super glossy look but can live with it if it will keep my slab safe.

Lithium silicate is not a dangerous product, no vocs, it is basically liquid sand.

I agree with your plan.

However, a densifier will not protect against spills.
It will make it harder to penetrate but it will stain.

I think you need to apply the densifier and an exterior acrylic sealer.
The sealer will help block the stains .

Nothing will help you with the transmission dragging beyond steel diamond plate bolted to the surface.

Would one need the identifier AND the acrylic sealer? And how does the EXTERIOR acrylic sealer differ from an interior sealer? I'm thinking I need/want the interior acrylic sealer on my new floors. Thanks.

The exterior sealer we recommend is solvent based And can be used inside as well. It also has a locking agent for exposed aggregate drives/walks.

Our interior sealer has slightly higher solids content is wb (low smell) but has much better resistance to standard garage chemicals.

For greater interior protection, epoxy/urethane sealers should be used.
