New Phillips Screwdriver - PB, Wera or Felo

Just want to order another PH2 for my pouch....

In order of preference in my current stash

Wiha Industrial (I think this is what it's called). It's got a complete black handle with a texturized finish on it. I grab this 9 times out of ten (I have the regular red handles as well)

SnapOn Green - Hardly touch unless I'm in my socket drawer
Wera - Full Wera in my Veto backpack. Nice handles, but tips don't wear IMO as well as Wiha.

Want to try something else.

PB Swiss without a doubt! I've tried just about all the others, and PB are a long way ahead!

Only advice - avoid the soft finish handles. They are the newest, and thus getting promoted, but in most cases you are better with the 'Classic' handle in CAB or the 'Multicraft' which is slightly bigger!

I think PB Swiss is the better of those you listed.

I'm a big fan these days of the Vessel Megadora 900-series. A JIS crosshead tip seems to fit better and tighter (for Phillips and JIS) and they're comfortable to use. It turns out the knurlled shafts are quite useful.

In case you're open to other options...

From the brands you listed, I like PB-Swiss. I have several in my bicycle toolbox and they've given great service for many years now. I have the PB-Swiss ratcheting screwdriver (with the bits in the handle) and while it's beautifully made and inherently useful, I don't use it as often as the simpler Vessel drivers.

I have all 3 and they're all really nice. I think it boils down to what feels best to you.

I'd give the edge to PB Swiss but they're the most expensive. The Felo and Wera have a slightly better feel and you can probably get an entire six piece set on sale.

I'd also take a look at Proto's Duratek line.

I think once you're buying very high quality drivers, the biggest factor should be what fits most comfortably in your hand

I like my Wera set I just got. It's the chisel driver set. But I think I'm going to get the standard set with the laser cut tips. If they're anything like the set I have I think I'd really like them.

I will second this...handle size and shape is really important.

I would say that more than anything else determines which drivers get put into which toolkit...obviously if choosing between junk and top tier, pick the better tip...but a great tip is not enough at the end of the day if the tool is a pain to use (too bulky, too thin) or sometimes just to fit in the box or carry around (lookin at you snap on instinct!).

Other times you really want that handle with super torque, the hard handle that is easy to clean, the soft handle that is easy on cold weather days...etc.

I have a ton of screwdrivers and about a year or so ago I bout some Vessel (JIS). Never used them much because I wasn't running across what I thought were jis. I gave them a try when on what I thought was an ordinary screw, and maybe it was, the screwdriver tip was cramming out. They fit great and no slipping.

Since then I always reach for them when I have a Philips screws they jis seem to work so much better 9 out of 10 times. Whether it is because there are more things with jis than Japanese motor bikes, or simply because they fit better, they are my go to in Philips.
