I noticed them on the web today. Open end says Craftsman quick wrench from nineties. Box end says CM universal wrench. There was a thread around here here about an upgrade in HF wrenches. Well, they seem to have the capital, so why not expand the tool offerings?

Low price, make it up on volume.

COO is either Taiwan or China, we'll see.

Edit: pricing easier to take because it's shamelessly from overseas? For me, yup.

Yeah, could just be the black oxide thing. Gives me more hope there from Taiwan that way. Dunno, guess as long as they work.

Again, use a coupon and you're looking at $13 on sale.

Those are weird. Look at the open end they are not straight opening. They have "Speedy open end for fast ratchet-like action".

Count me out on those.

No, They have a standard open end, just looks different the shape they are forged. Wife bought me a set for Christmas, I didnt think i would use them. But turns out, i use them all the time. dozers / hoe's / skid steers / plows /emergency apparatus / etc , have lots of different size gearboxes, with all different sizes of square drain / inspection plugs. The universal box end is great for that stuff.

Mudflap caught it. I don't know how many others did. Those are spline-type wrenches. Lowe's has had those on clearance for a while. I've never tried them.

Did any of you guys look at the open end of the wrench? They are completely different.

The open end does appear to ratchet, like the old CM quickwrenches I found awkward.

Pricing? On sale and w/coupon from cheap to dirt cheap. That's why I'm curious about them. Maybe they work and they're one of those hidden HF gems. And the COO's not going to change, so they're sort of guilt free since it was never USA.

Doesn't seem like the open end would take much torque to spread or just snap off. Light-duty only on that end, I guess.

Anyone use these yet? I'm curious about how they work. Seems like they'd solve a few problems in a truck box, if indeed they worked at all...
