Should look at the spyderco native knife. Lots of high end features at a low price. S30v blade stays sharp for days, made in Colorado.

I have a Kershaw Blackout. USA made, and a nice knife. The blade may have a slight learning curve to get it sharp, though.

I also have a older SOG Flash II that is USA made. Nice piece!

A lot of companies now are mixing USA, and imports in their line ups. Keep a close eye...

This will be my next knife unless I find a Dalton Cupid...

I have a Buck 525. I love it because it's thin and mine is marked USA. Thicker knives seem to rub on my leg through my pocket. I lost this knife for a year, a couple years ago. Found it in the washing machine after washing my Carhartt's, that I only wear during hunting season.

If you like the Buck 110 why not get another one?

Also forgot mooremaker, excellent quality knives made in TX. They are a bit pricey but worth every penny.

I know an old timer that scolded me one day because I didn't have a knife on me. He told me that a man isn't dressed till he puts a knife in his pocket. He carries a Christy. He said he picked it up at a PX somewhere. I looked at him and said it's been a couple years since he was in the service. He smiled and said yes it has but, that knife has been with me everyday since 1944. The Christy knives sure don't look like much. I am going to pick one up one of these days. I hope I can get 68 years out of mine.

I like my Kershaws.

Watch out tho, they're not all US made. The price may be a good indicator... $20-ish retail is most likely an import. My most recent one was $45 at a gun show and is US made (Kershaw 1775).

Bear and Sons cutlery, They make some really nice knives. I've got a Damascus trapper of theirs that I really like. Think they're in Alabama.

My Dad carried a Premium Stock Knife it seems forever & he swears up & down by it. I saw a couple on ebay a year or two ago & looked tonight & there are some on there but not like the one he has. There seem to be several manufaturers of them but not sure if they are still made currently. I saw small, & medium ones on ebay so i'm thinking he must have the large version but I didn't see any large ones on there tonight.

Some great Spyderco folding knives are made in Colorado (Native, Military, etc). Kershaw also has some made in Portland folding knives...I like the tactical Blur myself. The Buck 110 is still made in Idaho and often $35 at your local ChinaMart. I really like all three companies for folding knives.

I like the Buck 112 Ranger. Smaller and lighter than the 110 but still has the same great Buck heft.

Zero Tolerance and Benchmade are all I carry - mostly my ZT300 and ZT350. Zero Tolerance is a "colaboration between Kai USA, Ken Onion and Strider Knives" and the assisted knives use the Kershaw Speedsafe mechanism. In my experience Benchmade's CS is(was) not up to snuff - I emailed them several times about sending in multiple knives for repairs and sharpening and never received a response. This was before they implemented the new service plans where you fill out all the paperwork and send it in with the knives - I should try it again.

I dunno... I bought a Benchmade from an online reseller, and it had an issue with the blade. They 2nd day aired a new knife to me the same day I called, and let me keep the old one. Pretty darn skippy IMO. :)

I carry this Kershaw Random Task 2 every day and love it. Spring assist 3.25" blade, can be had for around $70. I never really carried a knife until I joined the military, and even after being out 4.5 years I feel naked without one. I'm gonna pick up a Kershaw Leek soon just because I've heard great things about that model.

Honestly I went through every fancy knife under the sun, $50 to $500, kershaw, ZT, benchmade, gaylean, etc., and was never happy... now I am carrying a $20 Victorinox super tinker, and I couldn't be happier.

Something to think about.... ;)

It's really easy to get caught up in the e-herd and forget what really works for YOU.

Old Timer is a bit big for everyday carry, I almost always have a Swiss Army on me, but the Old Timer is definitely a Knife!

Part of my EDC is the Kershaw 7000CKT Auto and the Spyderco Tenacious is carried when I know I'll be using a knife for utility purposes. The 7000CKT is very light and has a thin blade.

One thing I don't really get into is believing the steel hype. What I mean is, every manufacture has their own "blend" of steels and it seems every quarter a new flavor of the month comes out that one-ups their competitor.

Lets be honest, their isn't one blade steel mix that we couldn't dull in 3 minuets. If the blade is somewhat corrosion resistant and takes a decent edge, then I'm happy.

Don't cut concrete and don't pry out nails and I think you would be happy with any "major" brand of knife that fits your taste.

Shame the uk government has criminalized anyone carrying knives, even small pocket ones, box cutters etc (not that it stops the stabbings etc because face it they will just take a kitchen knife.....)

I heard you all had some crazy knife laws. No locking blades at all?


If Guns Are Outlawed, Only Outlaws Will Have Guns.... I guess the same thing goes for knives.
